I’ve been watching as each day of November my Facebook friends have been sharing what they are thankful for. Most started off with their family, spouses, children, pets…then things got a bit more creative.
I’m
thankful for all of those things and much, much more. I am thankful for The
Windham Eagle and the opportunity it has given to me and my terrific reporters
to cover stories that might have been missed if not for us covering them. I’m
thankful for Kelly Mank and her family for having the audacity to create a
newspaper based on positive principles and community involvement. I’m thankful
for business experts who are willing to share their talents and knowledge with
us all through columns written each week.
I’m
thankful for the businesses who partner with us through advertising, who
without you we wouldn’t be where we are today. One of our major focuses has
been on working with businesses to form relationships and encourage
consumers/readers to not always pick the big named guy to do the work or
provide the service, but look for the businesses and the owners who are
involved in the same things you are, who are contributing to the community and
who are supporting local, so that you also can support local.
And,
finally, thank you to our readers. As with any profession it is the end users
who are the most important. Without the nice words passed in town, letters to
the editor and phone calls to the office, we wouldn’t have the satisfaction of
producing a quality product for you to read every week. We appreciate your
feedback and we use it to make The Windham Eagle better with every issue while
remaining true to our promise of positive, solutions-based stories that lift
the community up.
As
it is time to give thanks for the blessings in our lives, thank you to all who
have contributed to The Windham Eagle so far and we look forward to forming
relationships with more people and continuing to entertain and inform you.
Happy
Thanksgiving!
Michelle
