On
March 24, 2018, I noticed in your Calendar of Events an evening featuring, “A
Night of Maine Poets,” sponsored by the Raymond Arts Alliance. This is a newly
formed organization featuring many types of creative ventures, all being
brought to our area in the near future.
My
family and I attended this event and found it absolutely terrific. The featured
poets all had very local roots, and spoke about life in Maine, pets, and the
beauty of our surroundings. We are new to the area, but every one of the guests
and poets was extremely hospitable and welcoming.
I
would like to recommend that people in the Raymond, Windham, Casco and as far
up as Bethel area search for other events to be sponsored by this Alliance. It
is a necessary and exemplary undertaking for a local group to provide art and
culture not usually found outside of the Portland, ME area.
